Cliff McGann
I grew up between the best of both worlds. Raised outside Boston, where my Irish grandparents freely shared stories of the old country, I was fortunate to spend my early summers on my maternal grandparents farm in rural Nova Scotia.
With a strong interest in my Irish and Scottish roots, I went on to study in the Celtic Studies Department at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and complete my Masters Degree in Folklore at Memorial University in Newfoundland.
I'm presently preparing my first book, on the life of renowned Nova Scotia fiddler/composer Dan R. MacDonald for publication. My articles have appeared in a diverse array of magazines including Lighthouse Digest, Celtic Heritage, Relix and Strings. I've also contributed to Yale University Press's Encyclopedia of New England Culture.
I perform regularly with The Boston Kiltics, a New England based celtic music and dance troupe who perform at schools, libraries and festivals.

Along with Kiltics fiddler Doug Lamey, I perform regularly as a duo at festivals and pubs all over New England.
I play Lowden, Breedlove and Otis Tomas guitars as well as a Rigel Mandolin and Sindt, Overton & Copeland Irish whistles.
